Cook Delicious and Simple Hainanese Chicken Rice - Nasi Ayam Hainan Resepi
Introduction

Ingredients
For the chicken, you will need: 1 whole chicken, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of dark soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of ginger, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. For the rice, you will need: 2 cups of jasmine rice, 2 cups of chicken stock, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
Instructions
To prepare the chicken, start by washing it and patting it dry. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, light and dark soy sauces, sesame oil, sugar, ginger, salt, and cooking oil. Rub the mixture onto the chicken and set aside. In a medium pot, place the jasmine rice, chicken stock, salt, and oil. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked. Once the rice is cooked, remove from the heat and set aside.
Cooking the Chicken
In a large pot, bring enough water to cover the chicken to a boil. Place the chicken in the pot and boil for 20 minutes. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the pot and set aside to cool. Once the chicken is cool enough to handle, remove the skin and bones and shred the meat. Set aside.
Serving the Dish
To serve the dish, divide the cooked rice onto four separate plates. Top each plate with the shredded chicken. Serve with chilli sauce, cucumber slices, and a wedge of lime. Enjoy!
