What is Bihun Goreng Tomyam?
Bihun goreng tomyam is a popular Malaysian dish made by stir-frying rice vermicelli noodles with a spicy and sour tom yam paste. It is usually served with a variety of vegetables, seafood and meat. The dish is usually served with a side of pickled vegetables, chili sauce, and lime wedges.
Ingredients
For this recipe, you will need the following ingredients: 500g Bihun rice vermicelli noodles, 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, 2 tablespoons of Tomyam paste, 2 cloves of garlic (minced), 1 onion (diced), ½ cup of water, 1 bell pepper (diced), 1 carrot (diced), 2 stalks of celery (diced), 1 can of straw mushrooms (drained), 1 teaspoon of sugar, and salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
1. Heat the cooking oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, onion, and bell pepper and sauté for 2 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
2. Add the Bihun noodles and stir-fry for 2 minutes until the noodles are lightly browned.
3. Add the Tomyam paste and water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Add the carrot, celery, mushrooms, sugar, and salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes until the vegetables are cooked through.
5. Serve hot with pickled vegetables, chili sauce, and lime wedges.
