Delicious Spaghetti Bolognese Prego Recipe

Introduction

Ingredients

To make this recipe, you'll need:

  • 1 lb. of ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup of red wine
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lb. of spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Start by heating a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, carrot, and garlic, and cook until the beef is browned and the vegetables are soft. Drain off any excess fat.

Add the diced tomatoes, red wine, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

While the sauce is simmering, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of boiling salted water according to the package directions. When the spaghetti is done, drain it and return it to the pot.
