Ingredients Needed
To make Sambal Kicap, you will need the following ingredients:
- 2 red chillies, deseeded and chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of shrimp paste
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
Instructions
To make Sambal Kicap, follow these steps:
- In a blender or food processor, combine the chillies, onion, garlic, and shrimp paste. Blend until a paste forms.
- In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, sugar, and vinegar. Cook over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the chilli paste to the saucepan and cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and let cool completely before serving.
