Ingredients You Need to Make Somtam Betik
To make this delicious dish, you will need the following ingredients: 1 green papaya, 1 red onion, 3 cloves of garlic, 1 tomato, 1 lime, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of dried chili flakes, 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro, 1 tablespoon of chopped mint, and 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Instructions for Making Somtam Betik
Start by peeling and shredding the green papaya. Place it in a bowl and set aside. Next, finely slice the red onion and mince the garlic cloves. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and add the onion and garlic. Fry for a few minutes until the onion is softened.
Add the tomato and papaya and stir to combine. Fry for a few more minutes until the papaya is softened. Finally, add the fish sauce, sugar, chili flakes, cilantro, and mint. Stir to combine and cook for a few more minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and add the lime juice. Stir to combine and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the Somtam Betik with steamed white rice. Enjoy!
