Easy Recipe for Delicious Red Velvet Cake
Ingredients
This delicious red velvet cake recipe requires some basic ingredients. You will need 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1 cup of buttermilk, 1 cup of vegetable oil, 2 large eggs, 2 tablespoons of red food coloring, 2 teaspoons of white vinegar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 cups of sugar.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, oil, eggs, red food coloring, vinegar and vanilla extract. Slowly add the sugar, whisking until combined.
Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, whisking until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
